42.05.010 When Registration Is Required

(a) Conviction. A sex offender must register if they were convicted of a covered sex offense regardless of the sex offender's actual or intended residency.

(b) Initial registration where the offender was convicted even is the offender will not reside there.

(c) Incarceration. A sex offender must register if they are incarcerated while completing any sentence for a covered sex offense arising out of a conviction, regardless of where they were convicted or reside.

(d) Residence. A sex offender who resides within the external boundaries of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indian Reservation or on any property owned by, or in trust for, the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians, regardless of location, must register with the Turtle Mountain Sex Offender Registration and Notification Department within one (1) day or 24 hours of entering the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indian Reservation.

(e) Employment. A sex offender who is employed within the external boundaries of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indian Reservation or with any entity owned by, or considered a branch of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indian Reservation regardless of location, must register with the Turtle Mountain Sex Offender Registration and Notification Department within one (1) day or 24 hours of entering the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indian Reservation.

(f) School Attendance. A sex offender who is a student at any school within the external boundaries of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indian Reservation is required to register with the Turtle Mountain Sex Offender Registration and Notification Department within One (1) day or 24 hours of entering the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indian Reservation.
