18.05.100 Emergency Plan Requirement

A center must have a plan demonstrating the ability to respond to emergency events, which must include the following:

(a) Annual fire inspection completed by the tribal fire authorities;

(b) Emergency response procedures, including a plan for emergency evacuation in the event of fire or other disaster, conspicuously posted in the center;

(c) At least one (1) staff member present at all times when care is being provided to children, who has completed a minimum of five (5) hours of first-aid training;

(d) At least one (1) approved first-aid kit maintained and kept in a designated location, which is inaccessible to children, yet readily accessible to staff.

(e) Storage facility for medicine, which is inaccessible to children, yet readily accessible to staff, and appropriate for the storage of medicine.

(f) Provision for transportation by an adult to a hospital or other facility in the event of an emergency, which adult must remain at the hospital or other facility until such time as the parent or other responsible adult designated by the parent can be reached to supervise the child's medical or other treatment.
